What is Express Entry?

2014-11-08 01:42

Express Entry is a new electronic system which manages application for permanent residence visa under certain economic immigration programs such as:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Provincial Nomination Program

Applicant makes an ‘expression of interest’ in immigration to Canada and, if they are eligible for one of the programs as above, he or she then entre the Express Entry pool as a potential candidate. The federal government, provincial governments and Canadian employers can select candidates from this pool and the candidate receives an ‘invitation to apply’ for immigration under one of the program. Note that there is no deadline to complete a profile and there are no caps on the number of candidates that will be accepted to the pool. Draws to invite candidates to apply will take place regularly over the course of each year. If the applicant is invited to apply, he or she will have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence online.

Since Bestway Consulting has been providing clients in Australia with consulting service as regards the EOI (‘Express of Interest’) system which is a model of Express Entry, we are quite confident about dealing with the applications through Express Entry in Canada.
